Pánfilo Avellaneda
Mr. Avellaneda brings over 30 years of experience in corporate administration and finance roles within the oil and gas industry. He is currently the Director of Administration and Finance at Mexico Petroleum Company (MPC), where he has played a key role in, financial management, business development, strategic initiatives, and regulatory compliance since 2018.
Prior to joining MPC, Mr. Avellaneda held the position of Director of Administration and Finance at Mexican Explorations Company from 2009 to 2016. There, he implemented cost reduction strategies, introduced the first enterprise-wide ERP system (SAP R/4) solutions improving tracking and operational oversight, developed GAAP systems, and enhanced project management processes, supporting large-scale oil and gas exploration projects for PEMEX.
Before his tenure at COMESA, Mr. Avellaneda served as Administration and Finance Manager for the North Region at the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP) from 2002 to 2008. He oversaw the adoption and integration of ERP (SAP) into supporting processes, achieved ISO-9000 certification for these processes, strengthened financial reporting and internal controls, and streamlined human resources and supply chain operations.
Educationally, Mr. Avellaneda holds a Business Administration degree from Instituto Politécnico Nacional (1989), a Corporate Finances Specialization from ITESM (2015), and completed the Executive Leadership Program (PADEP) at the Instituto Nacional de Administración Pública A.C. in 2002. Throughout his career, he has continuously refined his expertise through specialized training programs in oil and gas regulation, HR management, procurement, strategic planning, and business development.
